Teaching Ministry

At Redeemer, we take God’s Word seriously. We believe every Christian has a responsibility to dig deep into Scripture to understand what the Bible says, what it means, how it applies, and how it points us to Jesus and the gospel. In our Sunday worship services, we often take time to work our way through long passages or entire books. We also occasionally take time to consider what God’s Word has to say about specific subjects or topics.

As we study God’s Word together, we are asking God’s Spirit to transform our lives by the renewing of our minds. We do not study the Bible to become smarter people. We study the Bible to become more Christ-like people. And that is something that God does in us as we devote ourselves to thinking carefully about what He has revealed to us in His holy, living, and active Word.

Men's Ministries

Redeemed men are called by God to be spiritual leaders in their homes, communities, and the world. As servant-leaders, they reflect the grace by which they are saved in all areas of their lives. And as leaders, they are called to a Spirit-empowered standard of living and conduct that brings glory to God.

Burgers and Bros meets at David’s Burgers | 2nd Wednesday, 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.

All men are invited to come out for food and fellowship. The time together will be relaxed and informal.  No chapter to read in advance. Just come and be ready to share what God has been teaching you from His word. Remember, it’s all you can eat fries with your burger. Who can resist that?

Annual Men’s Retreat

The Men's Retreat is designed to ignite purposeful and intentional living through outdoor activities, great speakers, engaging worship and fellowship — as well as small group time to grow in relationships and apply God’s word.

Annual Women’s Retreat

Each year we plan a retreat to enable the women at Redeemer to gain a deeper understanding of God’s Word, grow in spiritual maturity, develop deeper relationships – as well as provide needed rest for body and soul -- with lots of fun mixed in!

Student Ministry - 6th to 12th Grade

The Student Ministry at Redeemer exists to introduce teenagers to Christ, to join the Spirit in their transformation into His image, and to lead them to love God, to love people, and to make disciples locally and globally.

Our vision and prayer for Student Ministries is to honor God by:

  • Engaging minds in Bible study (2 Tim. 3:15-17)

  • Engaging hearts in Christ-centered worship and prayer (Col. 3:16)

  • Encouraging students to stand firm in the Lord as lights in the world (Eph. 6:11, Matt. 5:14-16)

  • Loving and encouraging one another to build one another up (1 Thess. 5:11)

  • Making an impact for Christ in the world through service and missions (Matt. 28:19-20)

We meet Sunday evenings at 5:00 p.m. at church. We generally begin with a game or an icebreaker of some sort. Following that, we move into our time of Bible study, followed by snacks, fellowship and more fun (as time allows). We wrap up by 7:00 p.m.

First Friday Game Night -  meets monthly - View Calendar

Children's Ministry

At Redeemer, we want to assist and support parents as they guide and train their children. We believe the Bible teaches that moms and dads have the primary responsibility for the spiritual development of their children. As we spend time with children in our Children’s Ministry, our goal is to reinforce and support the training and instruction the children are receiving at home. In addition, everyone who is part of Redeemer is also part of the larger “covenant family” with a responsibility to share in spiritually equipping and training the next generation.

“He established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers to teach their children; that the next generation might know them, the children yet unborn, and arise and tell them to their children, so that they should set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments…”  Ps. 78:5-7

Our vision and prayer for the children of Redeemer:

  • KNOW God and His character, learning to trust in Him in all of life

  • GROW into passionately obedient followers (disciples) of Jesus Christ

  • GO into their world of relationships to share His reconciling, forgiving love with others.

Jen Gurney serves as our Children’s Ministry Director. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact her. She can be reached at 859-771-6580 or jengiles1@yahoo.com

Check-in/Pick-up Procedure

All children MUST be checked in using Redeemer’s check-in kiosks by PARENTS (only if they will be in any of the offered classes during Sunday morning). Children will wear their name/allergy/emergency label during class time. Caregivers will not be allowed to offer care if children have not been checked in properly. PARENTS will be provided a security label which is the way children will be picked up once the service concludes.

Cell Phone

Please keep your cell phone with you and on vibrate during the service. This is the only way for our caregivers to communicate with you if necessary.

Label Items

Please label all of your child’s personal belongings (bottles, cups, jackets, etc.)

Food and Drink Policy

Babies: we are happy to feed your baby a bottle during the service. We ask that all bottles be labeled and premixed.

Toddlers and Preschool: we offer a snack of water and Cheerios (Corn Chex mix available for gluten free option) during the service. Please label cups if one is brought from home. The classes are stocked with sippy cups and paper cups if you don’t provide one.

Please inform Jen Gurney, the Children’s Ministry Director, if you do NOT want church snacks/drinks to be given to your child.

Well Child Policy

Parents of children with any serious allergies or medical conditions must make sure that information is in our “check-in system.”

If a child contracts a serious communicable illness, parents have the responsibility to notify the Children’s Ministry Director so other parents may be notified as necessary.

Caregivers have the right to refuse a child on the basis of symptoms as listed below. (In certain instances Redeemer Community Church reserves the right to request clearance by a family physician before allowing a child to return to care.)

A child should not be placed in care when any of the following exists:

 * Fever higher than 100 degrees. Children should be fever free for 24 hours prior.

 * Nausea, vomiting or diarrhea

 * Any colored nasal discharge

 * Sore throat

 * Productive (wet) cough or croupy (barking) cough

 * Any unexplained rash or open skin lesion

 * Any skin infection

 * Any eye infection or drainage

 * Any communicable disease of infestation

 * Looks or acts unusually tired, pale, irritable, or restless.

Kid’s Small Group (KSG)

Birth to 5th Grade – 1st and 3rd Thursday – 5:45 to 8:15 p.m. (During the School Year)

One of the most effective ways to develop relationships with kids in the church is through a small group ministry. Kids — like adults — thrive when they’re known and loved and feel that people are interested in them.  At KSG, kids will learn more about who God is, how the Bible applies to everyday life, and how to grow in their relationships with each other.  And they’ll have a blast! Our vision and prayer for Kid’s Small Group is to help kids understand and develop a relationship with God through fun and engaging group activities. Bring your kids – they'll have a blast!

Child Dedication Sunday

God has given you a precious gift! To celebrate and come along beside you, we have a child dedication once a year (typically held on Mother's Day). This is an opportunity for parents to commit themselves to raising their children in the “nurture and admonition of the Lord” (Eph. 6:4).

Redeemer Service Projects (RSP)

We know there are countless opportunities and ways to reach out to those around us. One way to better connect and serve is to occasionally engage in a work project.

RSP is open to men and women of ALL ages who have a desire to put work gloves on and serve in whatever capacity needed. Projects range from all types of cleaning, handyman work, minor electrical work or home repairs, painting, moving furniture, yardwork, etc.  If you have time, experience, or expertise, please contact Matt Butler.
